Numerous addresses in Cemaes, a small village in Wales have been used to set up shell companies. Property owners with no links to the companies or their activities recently discovered that their addresses were being used when letters from UK Companies House arrived.
A total of seven new firms with Hungarian Directors have been linked so far to the village.
Comment – A worrying development and a reminder that thorough due diligence needs to be undertaken when onboarding, rather than relying on information lodged on company registries.
