Our Blog contributor this week is Jo Dugdale the Intelect Group Financial Planner.
I like learning stuff, but the older I get the more I realise how little I do know.
I consider myself to be knowledgeable in my own field as a Financial Planner but having become a business owner nearly a year ago I have had to seek the advice from lots of people on IT, Accountancy, Cyber Security, Compliance, HR, Marketing the list goes on.
Never have I been reminded of this more today, when by chance (or fate) I ‘LinkedIn’ with an expert on LinkedIn. After the first 2 tips I read, I was blown away by how little I knew about LinkedIn, which was even more shocking when I realised, I had been a member for over 10 years. Not only that, I had spent hours getting to grips with it when I joined!
Being a new business; time and money is limited but it is well worth prioritising the key areas you need in place and using your money wisely to save the cost of your time. If you are an existing business is it worth revisiting some of your key areas? 10 years flies by.
Times change, technology changes, advice changes and you may be missing out on game changing knowledge.
The moral of this story always get expert advice – you’re worth it!
