Also covered will be relevant terminology, your digital footprint and interactive practical exercises
Module 2. Planning for better search results
In this session we examine the importance of planning. How to search in a more focused, logical manner to obtain better results and how to maintain effective records.
Module 3. Credibility and validation
The abundance of false, malicious or questionable online information has the potential to misdirect investigators. In this session we discuss the importance of being able to discern between credible and non-credible sources, providing examples to assist.
Module 4. Advanced searching
In this session we will take you to the next level of searching. We will show you tools and techniques that will allow you access to the sorts of information needed to make a more in-depth assessment of the person, persons or entities you are researching. This will include a presentation about using social media profiles.
Module 5. Online security
Often overlooked is the need to be aware of online security and the numerous ways in which an investigation can be compromised. This session deals with the level of monitoring across the Internet and how risks can be mitigated with both technology and good practice.
Important
In order to attain the necessary CPD certification it will be necessary for delegates to complete some practical exercises in their own time. As and when this is required it will be discussed in full during the webcast.
Please note we have little if any control over the stability and reliability of Internet connections. If for any reason there are issues with our side we will endeavour to rectify them promptly. In the unlikely event that there is no solution we will reschedule the session to a mutually agreeable time and date that suits the majority of delegates.
